HALLOWEEN ENDS Deserved Better (The Shape didn't deserve better, he deserved consistency)

all you need is some themes & good filmmaking to make a mediocre movie that lost the plot of it's own franchise to seem deep.

same vibe anime fans be on, except, this channel had good points to explain why they like it & exploring exactly what it is that makes the themes and evidence of the narrative work, so what he and other channels talk about here is not reaching.

That doesn't mean the movie's good because we got "the point", that's we have to understand, but we or I can appreciate what they went for even if it made both the climax of the first two and Myers himself, neutered, sterilized and disappointing.

I champion character focused material, but it did not belong here. If Corey was elsewhere where he the was the start of a new gen slasher icon, new title, that would've been better but tacking him here? In the FINAL MOVIE? Not even set him up in 2018 but in THE final movie?

Good lord, absolutely not.

Score was good, themes were...acknowledged. I got the point of it all, saw many videos that I disagreed with to understand their points & why it works: The message works, the movie didn't.

And a lot of it has to do with lessening Myers to make the point, now a lot of that may have to do with the fact that this movie really is about the town healing & taking itself back from Myers (could say that was the point of the trilogy) but sometimes, as Infinity War proved, as The Thing proved, as Mandy 2018 proved, as Annihilation proved: the best ending isn't always riddled with closure.

Either way, If Myers goes, Laurie should've gone with him. Don't care how weak he was, still stronger than her. Even Zombie got that right with his sequel movie, very ambiguous ending.

If Ends had that kind of ending, with either Corey or Myers still lingering about, hell if the town gained it's closure with Laurie's own end, fighting for their future, since she is a part of that dark legacy even if still a victim of it & despite her sacrifice the darkness outlived her anyway but ? Haddonfield is free of it, but now it roams searching for another domain.

If this movie tapped into that would be shrined, guaranteed. Because that kind of send off is what the franchise & it's face (Myers) both deserved and is more compatible with. You have to keep the The Shape-- in SHAPE.

(and yes, the junkyward scene is good and the ost is a masterpiece of retro grit; agreed agreed)
