In the french movie Fantastic Planet (La Planète sauvage), there's a giant blue girl with red eyes named Tiwa, with a weird thing over her head, a human as pet, and another kid says "What a mean animal!".
I think this may be loosely based on that movie."
Re: I presumed the same thing while watching the episode, & i'll do you one better, not only is the color similarity there, but she has a band-aid on her right hand just like Terr bit Tiwa on her right thumb and Courage snatches off the band-aid on Tulip's right finger, in a similar defiant fashion, the escapes etc. Very interesting easter egg, if that was intentional.
And if intentional?
Very smart decision that the band-aid wasn't on her right thumb (Tiwa's injury) specifically so the easter egg wasn't too on the nose.
So Team Dil allegedly fancies Fantastic Planet (good movie), among other things, even King Ghidorah (which they visually reference multiple times). I dig it.
