gay couple sprinkled in a kids movie made in the 90s, likely
The movie was basically Hawthorne's, ngl. Buzz was the side character, she had more thematic presence and significance than him lmfao.
That was my biggest issue, Hawthorne as an entity hijacking the damn movie.
the gay couple was just eye roll worthy, not even worth complaining about, it's predictable. The west insists on reminding the 99% that the 1% exists, my heroes
another company too scared to commit to what they INSIST on shoving down your throat as if Gays are 40% and up of the species, scared to death of China to not subject their audience to halfassed diversity, but not scared enough to not insult America's audiences with it.
It added nothing to her character, and ofc she was a side character so whatever queer they would flash to the audience like a limp dicc it would be brief anyway, so bold, so brave.
Her being gay is irrelevant as a criticism and to her actual character, which is the problem with it.
Not impressed by the movie or OP's double virtue signaling, if someone didn't like the movie because of the unsubtle propaganda that doesn't even work in meta or in context and adds nothing to the woman in question- that's their business if that was their reason not to like the movie
is it a good reason??? no but i'm not going to berate faceless NPCs to grow up like im making the world a better place by shooing away people who dare to have a preference
It's not that deep, on both sides.
