Spider-Man: Brand New Day | I would’ve had Sadie play an Ursula variant instead, Jean wasnt it

Glad he/many enjoyed it, i’ll try it eventually- however.

Just from a distance, even before seeing the movie, I wish Peter moved on from Michelle.

In retrospect; I get she was a rider (she was 100%), they been through it together, but a soft regress is a cop-out.

Having Sadie play someone else who helps him heal just as a friend most of the entire movie: Planting the seeds of a new bond for him but not moving too quickly but ultimately building upon the “Brand New Day” namesake of actually moving on without regressing.

Have the new character be in the background first 30 minutes, show her doing her own thing, coming and going, they say hi, have witty banter, cheeky stuff in between the dark storyline. Smallville’s Clois level energy.

A confident dork.

📌Namely, importantly: Give her destinations, passing him by, curate a sense of purpose for her, so she doesn’t just exist to be the replacement for MJ; she’s got shit going on too. To cook that payoff just right, that is paramount for me, she needs to be almost fleeting but present, simultaneously.

  • Peter can get help, but still has to process the trauma, he has to do the work. This way he’s not hopping on a new train via romantic platitudes and smoochy.
  • But it’s a painstaking transition, it’s been 4 years but you don’t just get over something like that situation especially when it happened like that.
  • Ultimately, she is patient. Even before she figures out the secret, she sees his integrity and character.

Otherwise, establish she & Peter know each other prior in-between NWH & BND, skip the meet-cutes. The neighbor to lovers trope.

edit: they actually teased the neighbor thing as a gag in the movie where the woman tried to make small talk about them being on the same floor and Peter brushes her off awkwardly. I made this pitch originally before seeing the film by a few hours but i’m glad the movie inadvertently illustrated my point. Even though they sped-walked passed it, kinda feel bad for her tbh.

Pitch continued: He’s resisting her hints, help, counsel for most of the movie (a good 55% of it to focus on his personal baggage, just so the blue-balling doesn’t piss off the audience too much through peter rejecting a good thing): Just to reinforce his dysfunctional avoidant and isolationist martyrdom.

She’s not hunting him down, they simply meet at the laundry mat, on the street, Empire State: have her even point out how they can’t seem to avoid each other.

And part of the arc is him moving on first in a similar fashion to the movie but the friendship is a vehicle to that outcome; accepting who this woman is, not who MJ was. Because reasonably moving on isn’t going to be easy like a light-switch.

And to side track, let’s highlight his trauma track record:

  • Aunt May’s death & her dying right in front of him
  • Goblin’s terror on his life in less than 3 days
  • having fought at the Avengers Compound in a deadass war
  • losing Tony & watching him… die right in front of him.
  • The trauma of being dusted to death.
  • the trauma of coming back & the world is in another server entirely.
  • the trauma Mysterio put him through/ getting hit by that train.
  • the anxiety of the whole world knowing who he is, yes, that still happened btw; I will admit I had remind myself that that happened.
  • ofc the trauma of being forgotten by his bestfriend and girlfriend, the world. (how does that effect gov. records, dental, school forms? pictures, physical pictures? *shrug)
  • fighting a Warlord (Thanos) on Titan, etc. etc. etc.

Peter’s rejection of Ursula-like wouldn’t be justified in how he does it, brushing her off; but his blockheadedness would be thoroughly rationalized & made clear that he’s got more going on in his head than just Ned & Mj not being there. He’s been through it, and far too young.

Illustrating the scale of his headspace keeps the audience from trivializing the true weight of his burden just because he’s rejecting her best efforts, & some may/ most will likely sympathize with her and through that may becomes frustrated with Peter; Audience Psychology is real.

Because at the end of the day, she doesn’t truly know him yet, or the full scale of what he’s been through even when she figures out he’s Spider-Man.

TL;DR Committing to the consequences of the spell vs tailing MJ & Ned here and there; then MJ gets involved anyway through plot, and while I appreciate the maturity to have MJ state the obvious that she is not who he knew & they don’t just resume activities after his confession: Good scene, good acting. Regardless, it still regresses the NWH sendoff, especially the ending.

His soft following/ stalking; even the trailers didn’t sell me on, that was a red flag. But I get it, still not on board.🚩

My charge is, even before watching the movie: What’s the destination? If they’re showing him shadowing Ned & MJ in just the trailers, that’s regression. We can’t keep him stuck.

Even actual spiders eventually move their web-domains to different locations. Moving on.

Again, this theoretical Sadie switch, make her a blatant variant of Ursula Ditkovitch or something (she deserved better). Homemade chocolate cake & “a glass of milk” meme and everything.

  • No kissing, not in this movie. Just chemistry, warmth, and connection; everything he needs but doesn’t want, not from her. Not initially.
  • The audience would know undoubtably what their trajectory is as a couple/team, but they themselves don’t & that’s ok. They don’t need to rush it.

The point is not fixing all his issues in one movie or replacing anyone, but him finding some meaning beyond his memory of a past life, beyond the Spider. Processing his problems, vs a “fix”, letting go his illusion of control, which inadvertently can be the key to mastering the Arachnimode.

  • The secret is kept, MJ & Ned don’t find out, no contrivances there, no MJ being meat puppeteered to kiss peter. (good on him for telling her. That spoke volumes, a very good scene. One of many good scenes)

Just a little bit more progress in that respect but with something more tangible & evident that he actually gains a life of his own by the end of the movie; 📌but only after he moves on. Again, he can still have a brief interaction with Ned & MJ, but only brief.

I get/ & got what BND was going for. It’s in the title of the movie. But it’s self-defeating.

  • NWH was already such a good threshold for a fresh start to soft regress without a tangible storytelling takeaway would be a waste. Its interesting.

Brand New Day — The Jean Grey problem:

Cause what they did with Sadie’s Jean character instead was: Bizarre, a little bit concerning, and at times- disgusting.

That she not only got away with it, but got validated by aunt May in peter’s memory: Wait what?

So we didn’t even get to see aunt may showing peter that love.

She instead expresses it to this character that had a chunk of the city hostage simultaneously as she got glazed, lmfao.😂She’s a terrorist.

📌Jean is still a person. Jean has a reason, yet a reason is not an excuse.

And her claim that “her (sara) only crime was being special/different” (paraphrasing) — is immediately/pre-emptively contradicted by the fact that they were playing with peoples minds in the park then having ice cream afterwards.

This is Wanda levels of avoidance, or thinking having emotional pains (sympathetic) justifies being a scumbag or a straight up menace or a violator to serve an endgame.

Even if they did that invasive telepathy on rats or something instead of people in the park, it’d still be concerning; so the fact that the movie shows them blatantly doing that to people; NO ONE in the park finds it weird, that people a few meters off are bustin’ a move and the girls just move on?

But Sara’s “only” crime was being a special snowflake.

IMAGINE if Andrew from Chronicle pulled this shit, or the script specifically just let him fly off to Tibet to start over after all that. He got close with the “Apex Predator” schtick; and yet, being a kid at the bottom of the food chain. His attachment to that concept made sense & no, the movie doesn’t destigmatize what he did just because he started out a victim.

  • A victim of circumstance is not justified to be a demon. (Wanda, Jean, Andrew, Superboy-Prime etc.)
  • We knew he was a victim by both his school peers & father, the situation of his mother and no one was making excuses for what he chose to do. What makes the movie so hard to watch is just how much anti-glazing Andrew gets no matter what he does.

Wanda gets excuses, Jean gets excuses, even Walters deflected accountability etc.

The film thinks we’re that stupid, or for the benefit of the doubt, doesn’t catch it’s own condescension.

That’s what kept this from being the best Spider-Man film of all time (most of it is still a fire film tho): Jean Grey telepathically hijacking the narrative.

Tom Holland worked his ass off here, this is one of my favorite Spider-Man performances in a live-action movie: his charisma & confidence with the people, the police; his immediate panic & empathy when he hurt that Policewoman etc. It’s beautiful, reminds me of Reeve Superman.

📌The Arachnid hormone mutation was not leaned hard enough into.

Not to the point of Man-Spider tho, as some comment-nomads seem to want. No thanks, I’m good on that.

But TL;DR that should’ve been the main antagonist of the film, his own evolution, something he can’t talk to, reason with, appeal with a memory or punch into submission.

Have him actually train with his new abilities for a while vs just suffering it.

  • Otherwise: what happened to Sara wasn’t right, no question.
  • But let’s not forget the fact that they were playing with people’s minds like they were new toys to experiment with, violating absolute strangers in a park, making them all do the damn wiggle.

📌Violating Banner, let’s address that: Which wasn’t brought up in significance after the fight scene. Not enough, if at all: her being the cause of reawaking his demon, his trauma, and putting him through the anxiety of hurting people. Jean never answers for that.

  • We know Banner, not her. What makes her so special that she can violate someone who has earned peace, served the country & the world despite his mistakes; he’s a veteran. Then she gets to get off scott-free?

And then everything she did to all those people throughout, including that guy that got hit by that cab because she was playing with his mind — -

she made a hand ninja impale himself just to get Peter, apparently they’re just misguided talent, what did he do to deserve a blade in his guts?

The tank plowing through the city, the possible brain damage implications of jerking through people’s minds like that & they have no memories afterward.

It’s just so much that didn’t need to be in the movie.

Sadie could’ve been a way better engineered entity towards that more productive alternative of an Ursula-like. No powers, just a normal, witty, dorky neighbor; way more significant presence. Could save some money on CGI too.

And the antagonist, again, should be his creeping primality- his built-in instant kill.

His guilt, trauma, and maybe a Morlun mystic that’s gravitating to Peters climbing spider essence.

Or (for those that aren’t a fan of the totem take) a Morlun-like that escaped DODC & has been living in the sewers this entire time for maybe we’ll say: 4–6 years under the radar stifling his appetite —  to explain how no one ever found him.

Killing addicts & criminals to satiate his hunger with his own bizarre/disgusting justification of who the world won’t miss.

But it escalates to anyone he chooses or gets too close because he can’t contain it anymore. Maybe even say children go missing & all that that implies is what really gets the city in a panic (because Spiders do not discriminate via morality). To amp up the stakes, the crisis, mortality.

To give Peter a physical match, not a MCU villain mirror: that almost tempts him to give in to his impulses too. But the temptation for Parker (to avoid mischaracterizing him) being when he’s under Arachnid mode, it’s not the power that tempts him, he knows better.

But in his vulnerable, brittle mental state, It’s main his cold/machine spider-instinct mode that dampens the emotional pain & the memories, his need for connection. So it’s like a high, his senses expand, but his human cognizance shrivels. Until he masters it, it’s a tragic trade.

The power, not needing to hold back, his moral inhibitions are de-prioritized. Another excuse not to be vulnerable, avoidant; which ties into Peter’s mindset in the film as is. His own loneliness epidemic.

Save for Aunt Mays memory, Tony, memory of Mj, Ned, his career — basically everything he accomplished brings him back. And ultimately Ursula-like.

Make it more about Peter, than him having to share the script with a seldom-sympathetic terrorist in the 2nd to 3rd act.

Keep Frank, keep DeWolfe (I enjoyed her presence way more than I expected); keep Ned & Mj’s cameos but scarcely. Using their presence as a visual for Peter to see, seek after, briefly interact as temp fix, then eventually move on from committing to the consequence.

Grey wasn’t it, how she used her powers was interesting, namely her limit & how she worked around it.

Her motivation was understandable, & yet what ruins it is this accountability avoidance fetish the MCU possesses with these toxic female characters, the narrative confusing sympathetic reasons for excuses. That needs to evolve, it’s not cute.

"What if Supergirl was a baby and not a teenager when she left Krypton? Who do you think will find her? What do you think things would be like?" | I repeat, Make Kara a Lantern, permanently (2024)

if i’d do something with her,

Ideally she’d be sole survivor in a universe without Kal (As Superman) so her very existence isnt therefore redundant like in the canon, I’d have er be raised by a species not of Earth, like the Tamaraneans, have her be Kori and Komand’rs adopted sister. Blackfire Hating Kara even more than Kori due to the parents showing the same favor to Kara as they did Kori

Tales of the New Teen Titans #4

  • So not only is BlackFire 2nd to Kori despite being first born but ALSO last to the adopted kid. whomp #Seething

BlackFire would brutalize Kara in some way during their enslavement trials after Tamaran falls

So this Kara wears a permanent scar from Blackfire, their youngest brother would’ve died honorably protecting them, his life & death would be a forceful motivation for the both of them to survive

  • Parents dead, & on the run from Big sis who is on her own warpath to re-take Tamaran (which is worth a series by itself)
  • We get to see a sisterly dynamic with just Kori and Kara in various situations with them eventually finding refuge with the corps
  • She uses her Kryptonian ship to help them get away, and find safety in a functional fortress of solitude ship in space

I always pitch this and imma pitch it again- Make Kara a Lantern, NOT red lantern because edgy teenager mad durrrr, no none of that shit. (cause if its not gonna be permanent dont waste our time then)

This is actually Earth-7129 Carol Danvers edited into a Green Lantern Kara. i like how how the armor looks.

Kara specifically finds a home & safety with the Blue Lanterns first & a means to get stronger (Blackfire would be characterized as a legit force of nature, terrifying for Kara to even think about), every fight they have she barely survives and a fellow Lantern dies, she has to get stronger. Kori does not want to be a Lantern, hangs around for some time and the two part ways so they are harder to find. Choosing to hide on earth (becoming a Teen Titan)

Kara in time cross-trains to the Green Lantern Corps later after she masters the Blue (during which she learns heaps about her Kryptonian heritage & Argo, and maybe switch it up and have Kal-El be HER father which always should have been the case vs that cousin bullshit)

  • Kara would take after Corpsman Laira. One of many mentors.
  • After she & Starfire go through their various development in a 2 year span (for Kori its longer due to time lapses over space time)

Kara eventually becomes the Ion of that universe after she proves to be worthy vessel for the space whale entity, no cape, no S, no KNOCKOFFS, she has her Ion crest.

  • Making Sodam Yat proud, one of many of her mentors.
  • This would be the visual culmination of her completion, now ready for Blackfire.

Final epic battle being the two sisters in their final forms vs Blackfire who pretty much has ruled Tamaran and single-handedly conquered the Gordanians as revenge for The Gordanians destroying Tamaran in the past, now she is using both empires combined to conquer instead of sharing prosperity. Reason being that’s where she found Starfire, and taking the planet is one more thing to take from Starfire.

And in the end Kara wouldn’t be Supergirl or a version of Superman, she has her own shit.

  1. In her own league as The Ion
  2. trained by the same masters that taught Starfire & Blackfire and other master lanterns & more.
  3. Experience as two different Lanterns
  4. Genetic augmentation so her power is amplified & mutated
  5. Plus the Kryptonian upgrades

  • So by the end of that 2 year span she’d only be 18 years old. All that, from slavery to decorated Lantern Duty. Began at 16 year old kid.

The entire point of this is not making her a Superman derivative yet her journey puts her on a similar powerlevel to his anyway, in many ways, a blatant rival. Between the Training, the gene augmentation, the Ion power, the Lantern ring. (As Ion, she wouldn’t need it anymore)

Karand’r would be a serious problem. If she snapped, she’d be a JL level threat.

Just a genuine attempt to try to salvage whatever intrigue this blackhole of a character is capable of without coattailing Supes per usual.

  • Divorcing her from Supermans drip as much as possible, and giving her a serious power level by taking advantage of the other aspects of DC as a universe & have her specifically use Kryptonian tech in her fightstyle and use it to rebuild ravaged worlds, creating New Kryptons in a way.

Which most writers refuse to do with this character, INNOVATION.

Her going to earth at all would happen during her years as a Green Lantern, not by her choice or even curiosity, but duty.

  • No secret Identity bullshit either. She lives on Oa, successful, educated, respected. Has a career lined up when she retires from Corps duty, she has her own goddamn life divorced from Earth and Superman, who doesnt exist in that universe.

We see different sides of Starfire, a street smart Kara with an A.I Papa Kal acting as her guide to master her powers & comfort her during her steep depressions, and the experiments that gave Kori and Komand’r their others powers, Kara also suffered those experiments but more extensively because she was more resistant, so now she has Kryptonian +hence genetic augmentations mentioned earlier.

Fun stuff.

Tales of the New Teen Titans #4

  • OP Kara except its not cringe because “cell density” or some vague bullshit just to say she’s stronger than Superman without her having to earn shit.🖕 This Kara would have suffered to get this powerful, trained to get that good, she’s a professional, career galactic cop that’d impress the shit out of Buzz Lightyear himself. So it feels earned when she masters all of it.
  • So basically if Katara or Judge Anderson from Dredd was a cosmic Superhero

Making Kara cool for once. She’s had badass moments as Supertoken over the years, yet never once have I took this chump seriously or thought she was ever cool. Supergirl works better in concept, its why she has history but no independent legacy. None.

  • If Kara was a baby blasted off into space at the moment of world boom, I’d have the Tamaranean “r” family take her in and just go from there.
  • Otherwise, making her completely divorced from any mainstream established characters? Fine, have a nun from Oa raise her or something; Have her be shot into the Phantom Zone with her parents as a baby and only she made it out alive.

TL;DR Still make her a Lantern, the reason why I specifically push the Lantern angle is it covers multiple story fronts. It gives her a place to belong, a melting pot to meet a diverse array of backgrounds that can teach her soooooo much.

  • And being a Corpsman would put her in ironsights of so many threats outclassing her powerlevel as a Kryptonian, tests for her to get stronger.
  • For this stale piece of toast of a character, her being a Lantern does 80% of the work for me as the writer, all I gotta do at that point is just decide what the epilogue looks like and just fill up the events.
  • Not re-skin Superman stories but dumb them down and put a chic in it as the main character

And no SuperCapeshit, all of this belongs to her. She’s not copping Supermans situation, Period. At best whatever references happen would be easter eggs.

For the Tamaranean pitch— It’s mainly to give Starfire a place in the plot (because Star is awesome) and that gene augmentation the two of them went through, that same procedure on a Kryptonian ??? Is interesting to me.

Karand’r in a few words would be a studious, sassy, hardheaded prick a with soft spot for kids, sad movies & animals.

She knows she’s stronger than everyone until her then augmented big sis humbles her hard (despite Kara’s own upgrades, Blackfire outclasses her & Kori put together/ Offsetting how Blackfire was considered disabled not being able to fly, now shes the apex predator of Tamaran), Komand’r puts the fear of God in Kara, then she learns (with Starfires help) how to build herself up, learns from the Lanterns how to take orders & instruction without having to run her mouth like she knows shit (she developed an ego from both being royalty, smart as shit, and one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy starting at just 5 yrs old), she matures, gets her ass kicked alot on Lantern duty, trains, trains, trains and becomes an inter-galactic reknowned leader, pioneer in the near future and one of the most powerful beings in the universe.

Her arc isn’t realizing how special she is, her arc is humbling herself and growing the hell up.

All from some lonely baby in a wandering rocket ship.

Not a pet cousin, but a warrior/princess/Commander that runs shit on her terms, whose earned respect from even the guardians (if she didnt have their respect she wouldnt have been allowed to be Ion) and Kilowog (if you know GL Lore & Kilowogs personality, that’s a big deal).

Thats a Kara I’d want to see in a goddamn Movie or animated epic.

"There is a criminal lack of good Fallout macro content." OR? You just want to get your obsession fix in everything you see, including video games, which is a red flag in itself.

"There is a criminal lack of good Fallout macro content. There's a lot of potential for fun scenarios utilizing the games' humor and themes of nuclear mutation. I recall a really old piece had an irradiated gal who was as tall as Tenpenny Tower. Can't remember the artist though."

For the love of god, take a break from the internet. You want to see mommy dearest towering and making you feel like a toddler all over again. I know how the game works.

"There is a criminal lack of good Fallout macro content."

GOOD. The less macrocreeps get pandered to, one less opportunity for them to ruin/taint another IP with their creep  antics, as if not getting pandering has EVER stopped a fetishist from being an insufferable cringelord anyway.

Like that annoying younger sibling that just refuses to read the room and just dial it down.

The lack is actually a good thing, not everyone has your problem.

The issue is It's only fun than contrived for someone who's already obsessed with gigantism to an unreasonable extent, so the idea of it being in the game is just a aesthetic decision than about mechanical benefit of the Game itself and what already exists:

THE ISSUE is the idea is already is coming from an unhealthy place of fanaticism as is because fetish means obsession/ thus zealot/ hence fanatic.

That's problem #1, Intentions.

And that means the idea is more about the aesthetic than some contrived sense of "themes", when it's really about just having giant women in the game because you want to get off on having giant women in the game because giant women, because you want to see mommy walking around, in awe of her superiority or whatever the fuck. *dur

I shit you not, there's mods for Fallout right now to alter size of the character and it's from macrocreeps.

That's the shit i'm talking about, they're very predictable. They're so elaborate and annoying I can't even ignore it anymore.

So in reality it'd be more pandering a niche than actual theme exploration or an actual ATTEMPT to pitch a good gameplay idea.

It's projection, needing to infect everything you touch with your mental disposition.

Now that isn't to say projection is always bad.

There's a level of good projection in some of the best stories (Stan Lee & Spider-man) but that projection is personal LIFE Experience, values, principles, structure vs fetish coded concepts, and the origin of a fetish is a child's brain doing something it shouldn't have been doing.

There's some things you put in, and things you DON'T put in. It's part of any competent creation process.

In reality, the ghouls, various lore, the BEHEMOTH/ Mutants being man-made, not born.

Just like the war that birthed them, man made mistakes are the themes. Giant big-breasted women have no place in that, literally no place.

Now if you were to tell me the Behemoth mutants evolved to be sex-dimorphic then created their own society with procreation & threatened to replace mankind as the new apex humanoid species, and behemoth women, hideous traits and all are NPC enemies?

That's different, that'd be a sick concept and story.

Or giant women exist but their size affects their bone density and literally cannot walk, but have extended lifespans & suffer slowly in immobile position, and you can talk to them but they look hideous deformed due to the mutations- vs an idealized Barbie that just exists to make your dicc jolt because manhood apparently is short supply these days, men want the women to be the man and woman now.

But you see the difference is the female Behemoth wouldn't be a hott bombshell, and the giant woman would be ugly & have a tragic overtone attached to her. That's if you REALLY wanted to be true to the themes- they wouldn't be attractive AT ALL.

But you see, that defeats the narrative, the point isn't the game, it's about your mental issues hijacking everything you set eyes on.

Because the entire point is to provide macrophiles a proxy to project their potential mommy issues onto everything. Nothing to do with a good story, which is why 99% of their own stories are trash, and the other 1% are so stupid it's B-movie levels of so bad it's not good but entertaining.

The Mirelurk Queen is fucking huge, plenty of giants in fallout. But it's not "good" macro-content, whatever the fuck that means-- why? Because no giant wamen that are conventionally appealing that exist to please your 'I fancy giant women, because women as they are aren't good enough' gaze. *dur

Fact is, the Mirelurk Queen is a giantess in it's true form (A female beast), but she's not human enough to scratch that itch huh lol, so it's not "GOOD fallout macro content" , headass.

🚨EDIT 2026:

As of 2023, Winter of Atom of "Fallout: The Roleplaying Game".
Dawn, Sister Dawn a Child of Atom aka "The Great Glowing One". A literal titan, 30ft tall ghoul. turned into that by an exiled member of Child of Atom "Last son of Atom" was his name; he did experiments on Dawn specifically because it was her mother that exiled him, that's how she became the abomination "The Great Glowing One". And she roamed & consumed RAD waste & other glowing ones; she also births glowing ones that burst from her stomach by force.

Just a walking radiation machine; pain ,agony, and horror. Lisa Trevor on steroids.

THAT IS S-TIER LORE, that's how you expand what's possible, use a giant (who happens to be a woman), and not make it stupid/cringe/Ruhtarted/ or so infantile even Nick Jr. wouldn't fuck with it aka Macrophile in a nutshell.

It doesn't have to be fucking stupid, & it doesn't HAVE to be a giant woman because "parenting: the spectator sport". It can be engaging lore but it just happens to involve a giant- something.

It was 2 years since I originally posted this, and I discovered yet another example, a perfect example.  Fetishism ain't worth ruining everything you touch, including ya damn self. 🚨

Which is my point, fanaticism getting in the way of creativity.

It's the entire issue with fetishists pitching anything, they're so devoted/ married to their cult obsession consensus (often so more than who they're with), for most it lives in their head rent-free. many even admit it.

The obsession hijacks whatever potential they could be tapping into with whatever idea they have. I've seen it so many times over maybe 15 years? And ONLY cause I caught wind of it.

It's why Giantess fetish stories have better production value these days because good art (endless talent wasted on bullshit) but the WRITING IS always, and I MEAN ALWAYS cringe-tier DOGSHIT, because they repeat the exact same shit over and over again, like propaganda majors.

It's infantile as fuck, and embarrassing that adults make that shit. Hilarious that children aren't making it, but grown ass AD+ults acting like children, which is an insult to actual children.

It's why their stories suck and Susan Murphy works.

The difference is intentions. For Susan, her gigantism was merely a vehicle to make her an outlier to humanity, and in reality her character is worthy love-letter to Nancy Archer.

Now for the game, a better idea would be to give the player the option to have a harder gameplay experience for RAD-powers through %chance RAD poisoning under certain criteria.

It's not easy to achieve, but the chance to do it is presented often.

You'd lose options & mechanics due to health handicaps and bodily corrosion but gain power, how much of whats left of your humanity will you sacrifice for the power of the atom

example.

  • If you're RAD-powered- then some feral Ghouls specifically wouldn't attack you as much but they can now talk to you, and they can tell you stories, and explain what happened to them if you can navigate the convo in that direction or even show you parts of the world unseen to normal people
  • But if you're hostile or depending on who you're talking to, they will fight you with 5x more aggro & different mutation variants than normal gameplay as a normal human.

That's an opportunity for WAAAAY more lore, content and a challenge.

imagine how many more people would be playing a Fallout game anew JUST to go to certain vaults/locations/landmarks as an Irradiated mutate just to hear the testimonies of various Ghouls and what their experiences were, and what quests might come from that or a war between Ghouls, Mirelurks and Mutants-

that's HOURS more worth of gaming. That's content.

art by arsenixc

NONE of that which I pitched is coming from a place of a Ghoul fetish or some shit (i'm sure that's a thing because human brain has factory errors sometimes), it's an investment in the lore, and zero agenda.

Putting the STORY & content first before impulses, vs you hijacking something somebody smarter & more talented than you created for everyone, vs you wanting to appeal to the same deranged less than 1% of the global population that needs a hug than pandering.

That is what is missing from op's pitch, authenticity. Very transparent as to where this idea is coming from and why they're pitching it, it's obvious.

Zero genuine desire to explore anything vs just wanting to expand your gynocentrism-worship bullshit from your booru's into big name IP's.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, take a break from the internet, go a weekend to a week without that bullshit, give your mind a well deserved exhale.
