You can support it for saving face or wanting to feel like a good person or whatever the hell, but on no planet can you call that a parenting win. On one hand, he's not wrong.
And yet on the other, as usual, he's pinning it on the kid 100%
thats a crappy way to invalidate a child, cause at the end of the day they're here cause of you, and if they picked up signals from society to be acting like that to feel unique or seen or different just to be different--
TL;DR if the kid goes that far just to feel like they exist, that says enough about the environment the parents raised them in to where they weren't secure in their own genetics and original makeup as a human being
