Shockwave (DOTM) — wish we got more of this guy
Keep in mind, just this dude pulling up with his worm made a Prime retreat.
Not Megatron, only Shockwave. And he got even more hype in the DOTM game.
In the game, Optimus tried to keep this man frozen like his life depended on it, Shockwave even killed Elita in the comics. (She wasn’t a condescending bitch in the DOTM comics like she was in TFONE btw, she was actually tolerable)
Shockwave is a Machiavellian mood.
All the scenes of Deeeeep Wang could’ve been scrapped to explore this guy, see his lab. See how he tamed the Colossus or engineered it. Anything resembling good content.
Or? And hear me out, Shockwave talking to his brother for a scene.

where IDW comics/G1/Cybertron games get it right is the Cons specifically are humanized warlords, not gurgling demons or idiot thugs- but intelligent radicals with a propensity to break shit.
The Wave brothers’ lore acc intelligence yet Warrior class status is the antithesis to everything Bayformers did with the Decepticons painting them to be otherworldly dumbasses that never win or strategize.
Hell have we ever gotten a scene with them just hanging or plotting that was LONGER than 2–6 min, not them Transforming then talking evil speak for 60 seconds, exposition dump about some artifact then cut to humans.
About them just talking like regular soldiers in the barracks.
Really think about that, now take that same question & count how many times we got exactly that & more (including memes) in these three gems:
That’s the difference between a product called “Transformers” and actually getting TRANSFORMERS.
Shockwave was one of the biggest casualties, and the fact that they gave him mecha kaiju that could tear apart a low level Godzilla is just insane. I’m surprised they didn’t give it a beam weapon or some kind of seismic ability or ability to convert magma into Energon.
IDW Lore goes deep, Shockwave is a character who can easily be the villain of an entire movie or trilogy.
He’s like Batman in the sense that he has contingencies for everyone; a lab junkie, creates his own wears & creatures, smart as shit, no morals.

There’s a reason why everyone fears this guy, including Optimus.
Instead of Lockdown, Shockwave should’ve come back in AOE. And with his genius he easily could’ve revived his brother, Megatron and anyone else, given time.
And the Shockwave Prime killed was a clone, allegedly.
He alone could’ve resuscitated the Decepticons core members. He can do that.
