Skimming through Superman '25 & the first thing that stood out is how tf are humans keeping up with Supes' combat speed on key inputs. No quantum computers etc.

They're not cyborgs, just humans playing a video game lol. Reminded me of that Sovereign chase in GOTG2.

rich text editor image

if they wrote it that they used Brainiac/ Brother eyes processing speed as a medium to equalize the perception of time for the puppeteers, so that the combat speed is neutralized, fine.

Aside from the speed gripe, If Supes was holding back to appeal to the clone himself (which surprisingly wasn't exploited more, not even to explore his 'everyone/everything is beautiful' theme; he saves a squirrel, but doesn't think to fight to appeal to/save a literal slave? Oops?) but if he did, that would be why he allowed the beating-that's one thing.

But after he needed doggo to save him---

where tf was all of this when clone was washing him!? lmfao

The "avatar" could only be as fast as their command relay transmissions, and that's AFTER Lex tells them what to do which is seconds spent. So their inputs keeping up at all was funky.

Lex yelling "1A"? command was hilarious, thats what gave away the realtime issue. So to be fair, even a cyborg (hax reflex or even if the nanomachines injected into someones brain) is not enough to keep up with nerf Superman via key inputs to remote control an organic drone. Like Snyder, if they weren't playing on it so seriously at times, i would've wrote it off as a comic-ism like Donner & Lesters style.

picture it: a white belt who started yesterday knows all the moves of experienced UFC fighter who's been fighting for 16 years. Now consider how pointless it is to prepare 2500 moves against someone with superspeed lmfao.

Still love that "1A!" popoff tho😂ONE A! ONE A! 1NE A!!!!

Otherwise the hand to hand action for the most part looks ok, good camera work even if the cgi is a bit whiff at times, Gunn was smart to carry over his GOTG vol.3 action chops.

And then he prove Duke right by being a cheater over & over again, Dame entire life was just so interesting to watch. Bro had talent, he then robbed himself by being extra being a scumbag, he didnt even have to cheat, bro was still in prison in his own mind.

Then him looking to his Homey for that props, but he didnt get it. The good ol days are gone man. The Dame Adonis respected was gone.

"What was the point of THE DESCENT PART II? So they changed the ending and still made a flop out of a hit movie." - I agree

*originally typed AUG 2024

Just finished it. It was filibuster to reach the exact same conclusion as the first, just a worse movie you have ta sit through to get to it.

Unnecessary sequel, granted it was nice to see Juno being a beast as usual and her & Sarah getting some kind of closure but thats the only thing that was accomplished.

a lot of contrivances (like the amnesia angle being the writers forced reason to get Sarah back in the cave somehow) , worse effects, we know what the crawlers shit pit looks like, we still see the crawlers taking turns killing instead hunting as group, we only see ONE female crawler, no kids, no babies, no elderly, no nest, the crawlers look worse than before.

The direction was worse, the use of light took the threat level away from the crawlers and the fact that they keep getting bodied. And how its shot looks cheap. bad Cgi = points taken.

But again, Juno dead, Sarah dead. Same exact result as the first, which was presumed anyway. Realistically.

Juno vs all those crawlers, dead.

Sarah resigns herself to her fate with the illusion of Jessica in her final moments giving her some peace as death closed in.

The first movie ended perfectly.

No we didnt get the closure, but the lack of closure was part of the point of the "descent" into chaos, division, anarchy, primality.

Juno was cool, I personally liked her the most. While it was full circle she finally apologize, she did not deserve closure, she was a snake.

The sequel wasnt worth that one moment. Rios being denied because Ed psychically knew where she was going to be or he knew there was only w exits but then how did he know WHEN to be there, or why he presumes the crawlers wont kill them all outside Sarah being a fluke.  Bullshit.

Stupid. Stupid contrivance.

I watched it for more Crawler lore, and I learned they do indeed have a toilet, which I figured as much. Waste of time. Im confused why we only get one female type per movie. Where do they keep the children?

The best part about it was Ed hyping up the dread of the caves being a descent to hell, his gramps not surviving the trip. Chills.

The buildup to the caves were the best bit.

Writing was ass, story was ass, Juno & Sarah carried to a moot end, lore was painfully ass compared to the first.

Ed is protecting/preserving the crawlers, we dont know why or how his Granddads death relates to it or if the crawlers even see him as a benefactor.

What he gets out of it, and now more people are missing, including Law Enforcement personnel = more search party-

A loose end that was avoided with the first because nobody knew where the women were.

We gained absolutely nothing.

Man Of Steel - Superman Vs General Zod Last Fight **Reaction Mashup** (the issue with the neck snap isn't Zods death)

Man Of Steel - Superman Vs General Zod Last Fight Reaction Mashup

Kent having to balance saving people & fighting Zod like in Superman 2 and Death of Superman 2018 (excellent Superman fight btw, go watch that movie), that would've been leagues better leading up to him killing Zod. It's not the execution of Zod, It's just the build up to it that was so sloppy. All those buildings fell, all those people,  & only now this one family matters?

I've been in fights, when you're locked in  as an amateur, you don't pay attention as much to your environment, you get tunnel vision, so i get it, but this guy has super senses and common sense, all those buildings & not once is he looking around cognizant of whats happening? And there plenty of times the fight stopped after he got punched, no awareness, nothing.

(The irony of zod's claim of training on a farm is Clark actually did not train, he practiced to fly, and Jor-El appointed him to test his limits but part of the issue with this "Superman" is he's actually unqualified emotionally and literally, cause Jor-El did a horrible job prepping him, 78 Jor-El basically made Clark into a NEET shut-in before he even got the suit, that training was so extensive it required a timeskip, Clark had to earn the suit. Same with Smallville.)

*Cavill's era was wasted on Snyder & Goyer, absolutely wasted and squandered.* Instead of people using him saving that soldier that fell out the copter as an excuse like "See? see? He saves people in a fight!", that same act should've been extended here.

Not him saving everyone successfully, but him saving some & failing others mid-fight (because he's still green & there's but so much he can do at this stage of his career) and then after that failure, after he sees and absorbs that loss then he does what needs to be done with heavy heart. But we the audience have to see him seeing this & getting that impact DURING the crisis, not at the end with some frigging scream.
Thats what Invincible got right, or like Superman in canon (Superman for Tomorrow when he couldn't stop an execution of civilians on foreign soil or he couldn't stop a foreign ethnic dispute, excellent story btw, recommended). That's why this doesn't work and his comic Doomsday fight does, both Death of Superman animated movies too, both good fights, WAAAAY better than this.

Zack prioritized an uncut DragonBallZ fight with a post-nut regret scream over a Superman accurate narrative with a fight attached to it.  (And the fight isn't really that good honestly, Zimaut Animation could easily direct a better fight with just Flash animation software, go check their channel out btw, recommended) Like Superman vs Doomsday 2018, Supes didn't care if Doomsday was a living being or not, in fact, he didn't even check. In the end, he wanted him put down because if it wasn't done, Lois would die, and Earth would be donezo next, period. And Supes was a hair's breadth from passing out as well.

It's not about him killing Zod (in Superman ii he killed Zod out of spite with a smile, tho that was a different context given it was basically like a kiddy cartoon with some emotional elements but it was still unnecessary on Supermans part) but here it's all about the execution because unlike Superman 2, this movie takes itself very very very seriously, which raises the bar for a stunt like this.

The execution of all this was just as messy as Zacks Batman Bathroom scene idea.
I get what he was going for, but like Horikoshi & Bayformers, Zack has the vision to make something look cool, but how these cats get the story to that fixed point just ends up a train wreck.

(Disclaimer: the entire context of that gif of Superman taking Doomsday upside from that little girl ended with Supes suplexing Doomsday back down to kill him but for some reason he thought it was a brilliant idea to do that back in METROPOLIS/ a city **which is a major strike against that fight**, but him taking the opponent up in the sky at all instead of just sitting there acting like he forgot how to fly which is what Man of Steel-- did was my point in showing that excerpt. Because I've been saying for years "If he has Zod in a lock, ie. physical control, why didn't he just fly up?!????")

Lola Bunny was TOO MUCH CULTURE for Space Jam 2

So wind drag is a problem if her clothes are too baggy (doesn't seem to bother men too much, i dont recall fellas wearing skintight drip on the court with midriff) --but the shorts being so tight its riding into her regionals is better (groin crease rash incoming), lmfao.

OP tried to word it proper to make it sound reasonable but there was literally nothing wrong with her outfit outside that it wasn't appealing to male mating sensibilities.

As usual, cats think they own every female identified character on the silver screen, especially one that's linked to your childhood. If you said it was just too “mediocre”? Fine, fair, cause it is.

The edit plumped up her legs, dolled her up to fit a fap standard and that's enough.  People are too blasted entitled, folk just want pinup girls and trophies, and anything less is a dude feeling like something was taken from em; pure possessiveness, thats all this was about, it’s all it’s ever about, possession.

Entitlement. Many don't even care about Lola, most just need a box ticked because something was changed. No different from the “woke” mob outrage, this one is the “thirst” mob outrage.

Now, the industry can be spiteful, no doubt. Studios often desexualize to an unreasonable degree just to be mean. But the "fans" aren't a better look either ongod.*

For me, her face in that one picture was what looked off the most in that original visual cause of the size of her eyes, too small. Also the render itself looked under-designed; the only thing the edit did necessary was make her eyes bigger & massively improved the shading of the subject.

But in the actual movie she looks fine. Didn’t need to edit her shorts into underwear, deadass; all that "edit" is is just a hack reskin of what we already saw in the first movie, zero innovation.

I don't even like what the movie did to her court look in Space Jam 2, yet that doesn't mean there's something wrong with it cause I don't like it, for me it's the teams color mainly- I like the white & blue palette better, minor gripe.

Lola herself is the "culture", she's the character, the outfit is an outfit. People seemed to have cared more about the outfit than Lola.

Either she (the character) is enough or she isn't, period.

That's the conversation nobody was tryna have, cause that's what this really boils down to.

Box Offices numbers doesn't equal quality

https://youtu.be/HZIQLIt_-Ng

Captain America 4 was a mess, CA2 & Civil War crammed into one fusion, mess of a plot, laughable story, acting was horribly directed, pacing was trash, zero chemistry with the characters, cringe subtexts. Mid Captain.

So was Deadpool & Panderine, watched it twice in one day. The story was beyond a mess, No Way Home's key jangling but times 100. Which means they're going to keep relying on fanservice to replace competent scripts because people keep eating this crap up out of sheer desperation for an ok movie like the good ol days.

Now having a good time ain't an issue, but we really need to stop giving gold medals to trash because it made us feel good about watching it and it wasn't woke.

DP3 was an absolute mess, just a montage of fanservice, Deadpool spelling everything out & going "Remember that, remember them, look look look" and yet another multiversal level threat because-- OKAY then.

Literally everything Logan was- is what DP3 isn't, a solid film. Which is ironic because they appointed themselves to using the corpse of Logan for a loud obnoxious spectacle. Fitting. So fitting.

I'm game for F4 being passable, but CA4 & DP3, those might've been mediocre enough to not be complete dogshit, i'll give em that. But they were not good.

As for box office, irrelevant. Endgame made a crap ton too and that was also a mess. Profit is not a measure of quality, it means the marketing brand did it's job to get asses in seats.

McDonalds is trash in terms of food quality & shelf life, but thats not going to stop people from buying it solely because it's familiar, hence brand.

Regarding the movies, doesn't mean all of it's bad, doesn't mean it's good either. Sometimes it's just ok, or mediocre enough to not be terrible.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)| Full movie reaction | reaction mashup (Roland Tembo is painfully misunderstood)

Their reactions to Roland is so melodramatic, in a civilization full of tamed monkies that fight for nothing unless it’s each other but complain about everything, few of them can relate to this man who seeks to live through the hunt, a man thats in touch with his hunter genetics.

Too many softbellies, at least the lady on the 2nd to bottom right sees he's not all bad after he checked on Sarah.

The guy wasn't bad at all tbh, he doesn't apologize or crack jokes, & he hunts animals they see as cuddly Pokemon or something.

I guess their MCU groomed sensibilities aren't compatible with a personality like his. Roland is awesome, rip to his homie Ajay.

Roland had a code, he had someone he cared about, cut throat leader but didn't put anyone in danger, he STOPPED Peter from endangering the camp and could've saved everyone including Ajay if that photographer didn't sabotage his gun.

I hate that Roland never punched him in the face for that, everyone that died because Rolands failed shot is on that guys head and the movie never holds him accountable for it and because the movie overlooked it 95% of audiences miss it as well.

I hate that even to this day.
